Raphael Blanke

Raphael Blanke is an accomplished geologist with extensive experience in petroleum exploration and geology. From May 2016 to September 2022, Raphael served as a Senior Geologist at TotalEnergies, focusing on exploration in Algeria, Libya, and China, in addition to roles in petroleum systems analysis and basin modeling. Prior experience includes a position as a Petroleum Geologist at Instituto Mexicano del Petróleo from May 2006 to June 2007, and a New Project Internship at Total in early 2006. Raphael also contributed to academia as a Teacher and Researcher in Geology at Aix-Marseille Université and Université Pierre et Marie Curie. The academic background includes a PhD in geology with a focus on Organic Sedimentology and a Master’s degree in Geology/Earth Science, both obtained from Pierre and Marie Curie University.
