Rory Florence

Co-Founder | Head Engineer - Product and Software Development | Chief Operations Officer (COO) at Touchwork

Rory Florence has over 30 years of experience in the engineering and software development industry. In 1989, they began working as a Design Engineer and Product Manager at Tellumat, where they designed and installed telecommunication systems, trained technical staff on DECT and PBX systems, and designed and produced a digital telephone. In 2003, they co-founded Touchwork, a platform agnostic, IoT friendly customer experience touchpoint software 'engine'. As Co-Founder, Head Engineer, and Chief Operations Officer (COO), they led engineering and development and headed all business decision making, strategy, business development, and engagement with large corporate clients. The system has since been adapted and deployed at over 100 USA universities, used in high-profile marketing campaigns, and products have been developed for the USA, UK, and RSA.

Rory Florence attended the Cape Peninsula University of Technology from 1990 to present, where they obtained a BTec (then named a National Higher Diploma) in Electrical Engineering (Light Current). Rory also attended Westerford, but it is unclear what they studied there.
