Jamie Read

Vice President, People & Culture at Townline

Jamie Read, BA, CPHR, ACC has a comprehensive work experience in the field of Human Resources. They have held various senior-level positions in different organizations, starting with their current role as Senior Director, People & Culture at Townline since September 2022. Prior to that, Jamie worked at Amacon as Director, Human Resources & Corporate Administration from March 2017 to September 2022. They were responsible for providing strategic direction and consultation to employees and managers across Canada and the USA. Jamie also worked as an HR Consultant at Vertical Bridge Corporate Consulting from March to December 2017 and as a Career & Leadership Coach at CareerJoy from May 2016 to November 2017.

Before that, Jamie held the position of Director, Human Resources & Managing Director, Lexxon at Commissionaires BC from June 2014 to March 2017. They were a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and played a vital role in creating the organization's strategic business strategy. Jamie began their career at Bentall Kennedy, where they worked in various HR roles from 2000 to 2014, including Director, Human Resources and Manager, Human Resources in Western Canada.

Throughout their career, Jamie has demonstrated expertise in people-oriented programs, strategic planning, leadership development, and employee engagement. Their experience spans various industries, including construction, real estate, and hospitality. Jamie also holds certifications in HR and coaching, further enhancing their skills in these areas.

Jamie Read, BA, CPHR, ACC has a diverse educational background. In 1999, they obtained a Diploma in Business Administration from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). They then went on to earn a BA in Culture & Communications from the University of Calgary in 2009. In 2003, they also obtained a Certificate in Human Resources Management from the same university. Jamie Read furthered their education by completing a Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching from Royal Roads University in 2013. In 2022, they attended Cornell University, where they received a Certificate in Diversity & Inclusion. Additionally, Jamie Read has obtained several certifications including SHRM-SCP from SHRM in 2018, Associate Certified Coach from the International Coach Federation in 2016, PPA DiSC Certification from Thomas International in 2010, and Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (CPHR) from CPHR BC & Yukon in 2009.
