Michael Nutt

Michael Nutt is a seasoned professional in chemical engineering with extensive experience in research and development, particularly in the C4 business lines and process improvement. As the Director of Research & Engineering at TPC Group since March 2011, Michael leads a team of senior scientists and technicians in implementing technology improvements, achieving significant advancements such as a 30% capacity increase in highly reactive polyisobutylene production. Prior experience includes leadership roles at Celanese, where Michael oversaw global process improvements and acetic acid R&D projects, as well as positions at Custom Catalytic Solutions and Dow Chemical. Michael holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Rice University and has master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Arkansas, respectively.
