Derek Pilling

Derek Pilling is a seasoned investment professional with extensive experience in the technology-enabled services sector. As the Founder and General Partner of Workhorse Capital since December 2015, Derek focuses on supporting the growth of successful businesses through equity capital. In addition to this role, Derek serves as an Investor and member of the Board of Directors for Traackr and has held various leadership positions at Faction Inc. and Datavail, including Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer, respectively. Derek's past experience also includes significant roles at Meritage Funds and Crisp Media, as well as earlier career positions at NetLibrary, The Wallach Company, and A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc. Derek holds an MBA in Finance, Entrepreneurship, and Decision Sciences from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and a BS in Finance from Indiana University Bloomington.
