Rick Gourlay

Rick Gourlay has worked as a Senior System Engineer at Trace Systems since 2017. In this role, they deployed and managed virtual data center implementations while utilizing software such as vCenter, NSX, and vRealize. Prior to that, they served as a System Administrator and vSphere Admin at SAIC for eight years. In this role, they managed a team of virtualization admins, set up performance alarms, and managed DRS settings. Before their time at SAIC, Gourlay worked as a QA Manager and IT Support Specialist at EEI Manufacturing Services for nine years. In this role, they were responsible for quality management systems and IT support, including Active Directory account maintenance, data backups, and network switches.

Rick Gourlay obtained an AS in Computer Engineering from Tampa Technical Institute in 2000. In 2015 to 2016 they earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in IT Security from Western Governors University. Rick has several additional certifications from institutions such as VMware, Microsoft, and CompTIA. These certifications include VCP5, MCSE 2003, Security+, and others, but it is unclear when they obtained them.
