Steve McAfee

Steve McAfee has a diverse and extensive work experience in various leadership roles in the technology industry. Steve is currently the VP of Platform Architecture at TraceLink since 2023. Prior to that, they worked as the VP of Engineering at ChaosSearch from 2021 to 2022, where they led the growth of the Engineering team and improved the SDLC with increased adoption of Agile Scrum. Steve also aligned engineering goals with business needs and focused on quality.

Before that, Steve held the position of VP Engineering at Empirix from 2018 to 2021, and also worked as the Director of Analytics at Empirix from 2015 to 2018. At IBM/Netezza, where they served as a Senior Manager from 2010 to 2015. Steve also worked at Netezza as a Director from 2007 to 2010, leading the development of a innovative MPP RDBMS appliance that transformed the data warehouse industry.

Earlier in their career, Steve worked at Concord Communications, both as the VP of Development from 2005 to 2007 and as a Director from 1997 to 2005. Steve also held the position of Principal Software Engineer at PictureTel from 1995 to 1997, where they led a team focused on collaborative computing and drove a joint development project with Microsoft.

Steve's career began at Advanced Medical Management Systems as a Consulting Engineer and Co-Founder from 1994 to 1995. Steve also worked at Digital Equipment Corporation as a Principal Software Engineer from 1985 to 1994, where they developed logical and physical chip design tools and implemented a novel routing algorithm.

Steve McAfee has a Bachelor's degree in Computer & Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Steve also obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and another Master's degree in Computer Science from the same institution.
