Michiel Lerou

Michiel Lerou has an extensive work experience in the financial industry, with a focus on fintech, trading, and business development. Michiel is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of TradeZero Europe, a fintech brand that provides trading access and technology for securities and digital assets. Prior to this role, they were the Owner and Managing Director of Broadstairs, where they provided strategic guidance and operational support to FinTech, technology, and security trading firms. Michiel has also worked as an Advisor and Chief Executive Officer at Easybroker, where they provided expertise in the financial industry.

Before their time at TradeZero, Broadstairs, and Easybroker, Lerou served as the Chief Executive Officer of Gradient Trading, a financial technology company and global trading firm. Michiel was responsible for building financial technology platforms and teams, as well as providing liquidity to the APAC financial markets. Michiel also held the position of Managing Director/CEO Asia Pacific at WEBB Asia, where they managed transcontinental trading operations and activities and played a key role in strategy, business development, relationship management, operations, finance, compliance, and HR.

Lerou has also worked as the Managing Director of Korea Money Brokerage Corp., overseeing securities brokerage services and leading in Money Markets, FX, fixed income, and derivatives products. Michiel held the position of Managing Director APAC at Vantage Capital Markets, where they led the business's growth and expansion into new markets and products. Furthermore, they served as the Managing Director APAC at All Options, where they played various roles such as executive director, responsible officer, and deputy CEO, engaging in business management, development, and securities and derivatives trading activities.

At the beginning of their career, Lerou worked as an Analyst at Accenture. Michiel possesses a strong background in finance, technology, business development, and strategic guidance, and has experience in managing and scaling businesses in the financial industry.

Michiel Lerou's education history includes various academic achievements in different fields. Michiel attended Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2005-2006, where they studied Business Valuation. In 2008, they pursued further education at the Hong Kong Securities Institute (HKSI), specializing in LE Papers 1, 2, and 3. From 1998 to 2000, Michiel Lerou earned a Master of Science (drs.) degree in Management from Nyenrode Business University. Prior to that, they attended the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences from 1994 to 1998, obtaining a Bachelor of Science (ing.) degree in Petroleum Engineering. More recently, in 2019, Michiel Lerou obtained the WSET3 certification from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust, furthering their knowledge in the field of Wine.
