Garreth Rempel

Garreth Rempel has a wide range of experience in the transportation industry. Garreth is currently the CEO and Co-Founder of TRAINFO, a company that provides live train crossing information. Garreth integrates this information into real-time travel routing apps and enterprise fleet management software systems to help drivers avoid delays at railway crossings. Garreth also collects historical train crossing information to support transportation engineering and planning applications.

Prior to their current role, Rempel served as the President of MORR Transportation Consulting Ltd. where they conducted and led projects on various transportation issues such as urban goods movement, road safety, truck size and weight policy, greenhouse gas emissions, traffic information systems, pedestrian accommodation, and intermodal freight transportation.

Before that, Rempel worked as a Principal at Montufar Group and as a Transportation Research Consultant at 80venti Consulting. Garreth has over 7 years of transportation engineering consulting and research experience, specializing in areas such as freight transportation, road safety, vulnerable road user accommodation, traffic monitoring and engineering, intelligent transportation systems, and traffic emission estimation.

Rempel also has experience working at the University of Manitoba Transport Information Group as an Engineering Research Associate and Teaching Assistant. Additionally, they worked as an Associate at Montufar & Associates, an Engineering Assistant at SEG Engineering (now WSP), and an Engineering Aid at Real Property Services for Indian and Northern Affairs of Canada and Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation.

Garreth Rempel completed their education at the University of Manitoba from 2000 to 2011, where they obtained a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering. Garreth'sarea of focus was Transportation.
