Scott Griggs

CEO & Chief Engineer at Trainz.com at Trainz.com

Scott Griggs has held a variety of roles across multiple companies. In 1980, they were recruited out of engineering school into GE's Manufacturing Management Program. During their time at GE, they completed engineering projects in heavy manufacturing, supervised the shutdown of the last two B&W television production lines in the US, and held several positions in the Computer Service business. Scott also received two trips to GE's corporate training facility in Crotonville, NY. In 1998, they joined HP as a call center consultant, where they were able to turn around a troubled 100 agent call center, resulting in an $8MM contract renewal. Scott then led a transition/implementation team for a $30MM telecommunications outsourcing project, resulting in a very satisfied client and a reference model for the company. Scott then moved into sales and client management, where they sold an initial $3MM ebusiness hosting contract that was turned into a $50MM ebusiness contract over the first five years and expanded internationally with a merger at the client. In 1998, they also founded Trainz, where they served as CEO and Chief Engineer. With help, they were able to turn their passions of model trains and cool technology into a successful and efficient on-line business for selling both new and antique used model trains selling on eBay and the company website Trainz.com.

Scott Griggs received a BSEE in Computer Technology from The University of Toledo in 1980 and then completed a Manufacturing Management Program (MMP) from GE in 1982.
