Tom Richards

Tom Richards has a diverse work experience spanning several decades. Tom began their career at Cigna in 1984, where they held various roles of increasing responsibility. Tom served as the Senior Vice President and Global Lead for Strategy & Business Development, where they oversaw the company's enterprise strategy, corporate development, and business development. Tom also served as the President of the US Individual Segment, responsible for insurance and health solutions sold to individuals and families in the US. In addition, they held the position of Senior Vice President, Product, Online Solutions & Health Care Reform, where they led the team responsible for all US product management and new product development. Tom also worked as the Vice President, Consumer Driven Health, where they led the development and introduction of Cigna's next-generation Consumer Driven Health Plans. Tom was also the Vice President & General Manager of Cigna's Stop Loss Business, where they turned around a struggling division. Additionally, Tom held various other roles at Cigna, including Vice President of the Over 500 Segment, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Cigna IntegratedCare, Vice President of National Accounts for Cigna Group Insurance, Vice President of GUL & LTC Sales for Cigna Group Insurance, Regional Sales Manager for Cigna Direct Marketing Division, Director of Wholesaling/Wholesaler for Cigna Employee Marketing, and PPO Product Manager. Tom's most recent roles include Executive Vice President of Business Development at Transcarent and Operating Partner at 7wireVentures. Tom also served as a Board Member at MDLIVE from 2018 to 2021.

Tom Richards obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business between the years 1982 and 1984. During their time at the school, they focused on Marketing as their major and Finance as their minor. Prior to their M.B.A., Tom completed their undergraduate studies at Dartmouth College from 1978 to 1982, where they earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree. Tom'smajor at Dartmouth was Computer Science, and they minored in Environmental Studies.
