David Putnam, CISSP, has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. David began their career as a Network Engineer at Union Gas and later joined Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan as a Network Engineer. At Blue Cross Blue Shield, they rose to the position of Information Security Architect Sr., where they developed and implemented security testing methodologies and managed security initiatives.
From there, Putnam worked as the Manager of IT Operations and later as the Information Security Officer at SelectCore, Ltd. In these roles, they focused on aligning business and IT objectives with security standards, managing IT security spending, and maintaining relationships with government agencies.
Putnam then moved on to TekSavvy Solutions Inc. as the Director of Technical Support, where they developed and achieved support objectives while leading a team. David continued their career at YA | Engage as the Sr. Manager of Operations, responsible for meeting financial and operational KPIs and delivering a superior customer experience.
Their next role was Vice President of Operations at Next Dimension Inc., where they were accountable for service delivery, capacity management, incident management, and IT service continuity.
More recently, Putnam joined Voices.com as the Manager of Information Security and Internal Systems, where they were responsible for creating a safe business environment and ensuring the security of company technology and information systems.
Putnam also served on the board of directors at Wildwood by the Lake Rondeau and TransForm Shared Service Organization, where they held the position of Director of Information Technology and Security-Chief Information Security Officer.
Throughout their career, Putnam has demonstrated a strong focus on information security, risk management, and achieving operational objectives.
David Putnam, CISSP, obtained a degree in Business and Commerce from the University of Guelph in 1986. In 1990, they completed a degree in Information Systems from St. Clair College. Additionally, David has obtained various certifications including CISSP from (ISC)² in 2010 and several cybersecurity and leadership-related certifications from LinkedIn.
