Pete Thompson

Pete Thompson is an experienced executive with a robust background in the energy sector. Currently serving as Portfolio Director at Transgrid since June 2025, Thompson oversees the operation of an extensive high-voltage electricity transmission network in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, focusing on the integration of renewable energy into the grid. Prior to this role, Thompson was the Director of Projects at Fluence from March 2022 to May 2025, where involvement in utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems supported major Australian energy companies. Additional experience includes a tenure as General Manager at Siemens Energy and Siemens, with contributions to their Gas and Power Division, as well as multiple managerial roles in project operations and engineering solutions. Educational qualifications include degrees from Deakin University, a diploma in Project Management, and a Graduate Membership from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
