Sumaya Osman

Sumaya Osman is an Environmental Planning and Approvals Manager at Transgrid since January 2020, specializing in environmental impact assessments and planning approvals for major projects in the power and infrastructure sectors in New South Wales. Previously held the position of Principal Environmental Scientist at AECOM from July 2016 to January 2020, managing various environmental assessment projects. Sumaya also served as an HSSE Specialist for Horizon Oil Limited from February 2015 to February 2016, where responsibilities included environmental regulatory approvals and the development of environmental management plans. Earlier experience includes serving as a Principal Environmental Consultant at ERM: Environmental Resources Management from June 2009 to January 2015, overseeing project delivery and management of environmental assessment projects in Australia and Papua New Guinea. Sumaya holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science from the University of Cape Town, obtained between 1995 and 1998.
