David Block-Schachter is the current Chief Business Officer at Transit, a company that uses data to make vehicles appear and make mass transit sexy again. David is also a co-founder of Bridj, a mass transit startup. David has a long history of working in the transportation industry, starting as a Research Associate at MIT and then working their way up to Director of Research and Analytics at MBTA before becoming the Chief Scientist and Chief Technology Officer at Bridj. David is responsible for the hiring and management of a team of scientists, designers, and programmers, and they have worked with industry and government partners to provide value-added partnerships and update the regulatory structure in order to operate a privately funded service.

David Block-Schachter has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Transportation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), a Master of Science in Technology (MST) and Master of City Planning (MCP) in Transportation and Urban Planning from MIT, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Urban Studies and Economics from Columbia University in the City of New York.
