Jake Sion is the current COO at Transit. Prior to that, they were a Project Analyst at Transdev from June 2013 to June 2014. Jake was responsible for leading mobile ticketing and fare collection projects for Transdev contracts in Nassau County (NICE) and New Orleans (NORTA). NICE was the first bus-only U.S. transit system to deploy mobile ticketing, and the deployment was included in Transdev's international innovation portfolio. Jake also lead NICE customer-facing technology initiatives; including launching open data policy, assembling developer resources, managing digital signage projects, and deploying and managing backend powering NICE service advisories. In addition, they advised and performed due diligence for North American executive team on mobile strategy and investments.
Before Transdev, Jake was a Consultant at Cornell University from January 2013 to June 2013. Jake was selected to join graduate student team providing recommendations to Cornell NYC Tech for future student mobility and campus accessibility. The purpose of the workshop was to assess transportation challenges facing Cornell’s new tech campus on Roosevelt Island. The final report was presented to Senior Cornell Administration and Trustees, and shared with NYC Economic Development Corporation to help them examine possible expansion of the East River Ferry service.
Jake Sion earned a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies and International Relations from Cornell University. Jake later pursued a field in European Theirtory and Politics at the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne.
Jake Sion reports to Sam Vermette, Co-Founder & CEO. Some direct reports include Stéphanie Grandperret - Head of Finance & Operations, Richard Archambault - Project Manager, and Shanti Gonzales - Partner Communications Manager. They are on a team with Kerra Shukster - Partner Success, David Block-Schachter - CBO, and Andrew Salzberg - Head of Policy.
