Jay Eum

Co-Founder at Translink Capital

Jay Eum is currently the Managing Partner of GFT Ventures, a role they have held since 2021. Prior to that, they were the Senior Advisor at DTCP from 2020. From 2007 to 2021, they were the Co-Founder of TransLink Capital, where they were responsible for investments in Carbonite (NASDAQ: CARB), Chartboost, Enterprise DB (acquired by Peak Equity Partners), Epic!, Gamevice, nWay, Peel, Penrose, Singular, SoundHound, SquareTwo and YuMe (NYSE: YUME). Jay was also responsible for supporting TransLink's portfolio companies with their customers and partners primarily in Korea. From 2003 to 2007, they were the Managing Director of Samsung Ventures America and the General Manager of North Asia at Aicent, a Vertex Management Portfolio company. From 1999 to 2003, they were the Vice President of Vertex Management, a global VC firm headquartered in Singapore, where they focused on investments in communications, mobile, and Internet including GRIC Communications (NASDAQ: GRIC). Jay also represented Vertex at several portfolio companies including Aicent (acquired by Syniverse), Mobile 365 (acquired by Sybase), and PayPal (acquired by eBay). Prior to that, they were the Sr. Director at Dialpad Communications, Inc. from 2000 to 2001, an Associate at McKinsey & Company from 1999 to 2000, and a Summer Associate at Goldman Sachs from 1998 to 1999.

Jay Eum received their MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business between 1997 and 1999. Prior to that, they obtained a BS and MS in Chemistry from Seoul National University between 1988 and 1994.
