Jennifer Chan

Jennifer Chan serves the public interest as a policy lawyer for the Law Society of British Columbia, where her work focuses on issues such as anti-money laundering, professional regulation, and equity and inclusion. Previously, she practiced as an infrastructure (P3) and real property lawyer with a leading national law firm and as counsel for provincial and federal commissions of inquiry. She has significant experience handling complex situations with diverse parties, building consensus, and co-developing recommendations for a shared path forward.

Jennifer is proud to have served on the Vancouver Public Library Board for eight years, including two years as Chair. She has also served on the board of the Continuing Legal Education Society of BC, one of the largest providers of continuing legal education in the province, and on the Vancouver Foundation’s Environment and Animal Welfare Advisory Committee.

Jennifer is grateful to live and work on the unceded homelands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, together with her partner Matt. She holds degrees from Harvard (LL.M.), Oxford (M.Sc.), U. Victoria (LL.B) and UBC (B.Sc.) and is a certified anti-money laundering specialist.
