Dipak Patel

Dipak Patel is an experienced leader in climate finance, energy transition, and infrastructure development, currently serving as Co-Chair of the Energy Mix and Just Transition Task Force at B20 South Africa and as a Strategic Advisor on Climate Finance and Innovation for the Presidential Climate Commission. With a robust background, Patel has held key roles including Non-Executive Director at Transnet and Special Advisor to the Minister of Public Enterprises, where contributions have focused on state-owned enterprises and corporate strategy. Previous leadership roles include CEO positions at Masihambisane Investment Holdings and GEMS Education Group, alongside extensive experience at Standard Bank Group as Global Head of multiple divisions, including the International Development Group. Patel's earlier career includes significant positions in the South African National Department of Transport and The South African Breweries, complemented by a strong academic background that includes an MBA from the University of the Witwatersrand and an MSc in Development Economics from SOAS University of London.
