Roland Schmid has extensive maritime experience, currently serving as a Senior Dynamic Positioning Operator (SDPO) at Transocean since August 2016, and previously holding the position of Chief Mate at Transocean in Angola from October 2013. Roland's career with Transocean began in November 2011 as a Senior Dynamic Positioning Operator, and earlier, Roland worked as a Dynamic Positioning Operator. Prior to joining Transocean, Roland spent over a decade at Edison Chouest Offshore, culminating in the role of Master Unlimited. Roland holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology/Marine Transportation from Texas A&M University Galveston Campus and has furthered education in Major Emergency Management at Falck Alford in Houston, TX.
