Sandesh Aryal

Sandesh Aryal is a Senior Research Scientist at TransPerfect since June 2020, specializing in personalized expressive text-to-speech, cross-lingual voice conversion, neural vocoding, and multispeaker TTS. Previously, Aryal worked as a Speech Scientist at Oben Inc, focusing on personalized text-to-speech and voice conversion from January 2016 to March 2020. Aryal's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Texas A&M University, where research centered on foreign accent conversion techniques, and a Master of Science in Engineering/Industrial Management from Point Park University. Aryal began the academic journey with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from Tribhuvan University. Early career experience includes roles as a Research Programmer at Carnegie Mellon University, analyzing brain imaging data and co-authoring a relevant publication, and as a Planning Engineer at Nepal Telecom, assessing telecommunication project feasibility. Aryal has also held an instructive role at Apex College Pvt. Ltd., teaching programming and data structures.
