Ronald Barr has over 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. From 1990 to 1999, they were the Director of Advanced Technology, Operations, and Engineering at Read Rite. During this time, they led a team of 30 engineers and technicians responsible for fabrication of prototype and experimental devices. Ronald also developed new processes and designs, and managed a large scale magnetic recording head fabrication operation. From 1999 to 2007, they were the Senior Director of Operations, Quality, and Engineering at KLA. During this time, they established the quality organization for the Global Support Services Division and led Kaizen teams in multiple countries. From 2007 to 2009, they were the Director of Operations and Quality at Nanosys. During this time, they evaluated supplier quality, negotiated terms, pricing, and delivery of capital equipment, and launched the company's first product into production. Finally, from 2009 to present, they have been the Vice President of Quality, Reliability, Operations, and Engineering at Transphorm Inc. During this time, they have led the start-up of a new semiconductor fabrication facility, selected and purchased process equipment, and successfully transferred and scaled up a GaN high voltage power device.
Ronald Barr holds an MBA from Santa Clara University, has taken graduate courses in Applied Mathematics from Rochester Institute of Technology, and has a BS in Chemistry from Syracuse University. In addition, they have obtained certifications from Coursera Course Certificates in Data Science Specialization in April 2016, from ASQ - World Headquarters in Certified Six Sigma Black Belt in March 2007, and from ASQ - World Headquarters in Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence in October 2006.
