Shichen Yuan

Shichen Yuan is a Senior Data Scientist at TransUnion, beginning in September 2022, where enhancements to merchant tagging pipelines have been achieved through machine learning processes, leading to improved efficiency and consistency. Prior to this role, Shichen served as a Postdoctoral Associate and Data Scientist at Brandeis University from June 2018 to August 2022, developing a Component Analysis Engine for extracting NMR spectra of individual substances. From August 2012 to May 2018, Shichen worked as a Research Assistant at The University of Akron, where a rule-based Insight Engine was created to analyze the spatial distribution of molecules using NMR spectra for plastic materials production. Shichen holds a Master's degree in Statistics from The University of Akron, completed in August 2023, a PhD in Polymer from The University of Akron, earned in May 2018, and a Bachelor's degree in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Science and Technology of China, awarded in June 2012.
