Guy Vinci completed their Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering at The University of Queensland from 1987 to 1990. Guy then pursued a Graduate Diploma in Management in Technology Management at Deakin University. In 2002, they enrolled in La Trobe University and obtained their Master of Business Administration in Technology Management in 2005.

In terms of additional certifications, Guy received the National Engineering Register from Engineers Australia in September 2020. Guy obtained the APEC Engineer (Aus), Mechanical Engineering certification from the APEC - Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation in October 2017. In the same year, they also achieved the Chartered Professional Engineer/National Engineering Registered in Leadership and Management & Mechanical Engineering through Engineers Australia. Furthermore, they obtained the Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (Mechanical Engineering) certification from The Board of Professional Engineers of Queensland in May 1999.
