MISSION AND VISION
At Trauma Healing Therapy (THT), it is our mission to help clients and the community heal from trauma and relationship wounds using two simple ingredients: evidenced-based clinical techniques AND an empathic, warm, humanistic approach to psychotherapy.

CORE VALUES:

INNATE POTENTIAL: Each client has the innate potential to heal and achieve “post traumatic growth”.

THE CLIENT IS THE EXPERT: Each client is their best expert. Us therapists DO NOT know them better, but we are merely there to support them during their own journey, at their own pace, as a warm/empathic presence and support figure.

EMPATHY IS KEY IN THERAPY: At THT, we firmly believe that the most important skill a therapist can have is not the one acquired from a fancy training (we REALLY need that too for trauma work, BTW!), but the capacity to connect with the client, human to human, in an unconditionally caring, empathetic and supportive way.

TRAUMA NEEDS TREATMENT: Our clients' symptoms often stem from past traumas/relationship injuries. We believe that those symptoms are not to be blamed, as they allowed our clients to survive/cope the best they could. We believe that by treating the underlying trauma, our clients’ symptoms will disappear.

TRANSITION FROM SURVIVING TO LIVING LIVES: It’s our job, with our client’s permission, to guide clients in their journey from “surviving” to “living” their lives using evidence-based, trauma healing techniques (i.e. EMDR/Flash, EFT etc).

CLINICAL EXCELLENCE & GROWTH: At THT, we value continued clinical growth and education and foster it by clinical consultation/weekly staff meetings.

GIVING BACK: At THT, we value giving back to the community by regularly offering free education events, speaking engagements and workshops on trauma-related topics.
