The Carpathian Mountains boast vast contiguous forests, teeming with unique species, including Europe's largest carnivore populations. To protect this ecological gem, Foundation Conservation Carpathia emerged in 2009. It was founded by 12 philanthropists and conservationists with the goal to stop illegal logging, and to protect a significant surface of Carpathian forests in the form of a completely protected area for future generations.
Our united vision is to establish a world-class wilderness reserve, covering over 250,000 ha, allowing evolutionary processes to thrive.
