Enduring. Refined. Distinctive.
Since 1967, TRE Architecture has designed custom homes and residential communities rooted in the light, landscape, and character of Southern California, from the coast to Rancho Santa Fe.
Where we began.
Amato Teta founded the practice in San Diego after graduating from Carnegie Mellon University. His son Allan joined after earning his degree from the University of Southern California and building experience across the region. Their collaboration became the foundation of everything we do.
How we work.
Every project begins with listening. We study how our clients live: their relationship with light, their sense of arrival, the way a home should feel at the end of the day. Design follows from there, shaped by climate, proportion, materiality, and the specific character of each site.
Nothing is generic. Everything is considered.
What we believe.
We don't design for trends. We design for time. The homes and communities we build are purposeful and lasting, guided by the same principles that have defined this practice for nearly six decades.
Where we work.
From coastal San Diego to Rancho Santa Fe, every project is an expression of place and a reflection of the people who will call it home.
