We create transformative plans and public spaces that drive reinvestment in cities through an interdisciplinary practice integrating urban design, landscape architecture, and placemaking strategy.

Established in 2020, TREE is an interdisciplinary urban design and landscape architecture practice focused on public space, landscape infrastructure, and urban systems. The firm’s work centers on post-industrial cities facing challenges of depopulation and disinvestment, where design can serve as a catalyst for renewed urban life. Working nationally, TREE applies a landscape urbanism approach across civic space, mobility systems, and ecological infrastructure to help reconnect cities through transformative public landscapes.

Through the design of connected public spaces and infrastructure systems, TREE seeks to catalyze economic reinvestment, strengthen cultural identity, and attract future generations back to urban centers. The firm focuses on translating complex civic challenges into actionable plans, visible public space improvements, and implementable infrastructure strategies that produce measurable community impact.

TREE has emerged as a leading practice working across public space, green infrastructure, complete street networks, parks and trail systems, stormwater strategies, and transit-oriented redevelopment. Operating across scales ranging from citywide frameworks and corridor planning to construction documentation and implementation, the studio emphasizes practical design solutions that move projects from vision to execution.

The firm collaborates closely with public agencies, private development partners, philanthropic organizations, and community stakeholders to align design, policy, funding, and implementation strategies. Through public-private partnerships and sustained civic engagement, TREE works to deliver transformative yet attainable urban projects that improve quality of life and strengthen long-term urban resilience.
