Treen is a small, family-owned woodworking business based in Salem, Oregon. Treen uses a variety of woodworking techniques to turn sustainably harvested Pacific Northwest timber into beautiful burial vessels. We use Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified wood and natural materials so that our caskets may be used for natural/green burials, but our caskets may be buried in any type of cemetery (or even one’s backyard, depending on state and local laws).

We use soft woods, such as Douglas Fir and Ponderosa Pine, which are not only more affordable for us and our customers, but weigh less and decompose more quickly than hardwoods like oak and maple. We primarily use materials sourced from the Pacific Northwest, and partner with other local businesses to support a strong local economy and community. Treen values sustainability, compassion, equity, quality craftsmanship, and use of natural and locally sourced materials. To learn more about our products, please check out our Products page.
