The Tamil Nadu Wilderness Experiences Corporation (TNWEC) is the Government of Tamil Nadu’s dedicated organisation for sustainable ecotourism, responsible travel, and wilderness experiences. As the State’s Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) under the Tamil Nadu Forest Department, TNWEC promotes low-impact tourism, trekking, wildlife education, and conservation-based experiential travel across Tamil Nadu.

Home to 26,419.23 sq. km of diverse forest landscapes, Tamil Nadu offers tropical evergreen forests, mangroves, grasslands, scenic hill stations, pristine beaches, wildlife sanctuaries, and UNESCO heritage sites. TNWEC connects travellers with these untouched ecosystems through journeys that are safe, educational, and eco-conscious, ensuring that exploration directly supports biodiversity protection and local livelihoods.

Our flagship initiative, Trek Tamil Nadu, features 40+ identified forest trekking trails with expert guides trained in ecology, safety, and environmental interpretation. Each curated trail ensures minimal carbon footprint, zero-waste trekking practices, and meaningful interaction with local communities and indigenous cultures.
