Bill Usinger

Vice President, Head Of R&d at Trellis Bioscience

Bill Usinger began their work experience in 1998 as the Director of Immunobiology at FibroGen. Bill led therapeutic antibody discovery and development, as well as immunoassay development and validation. Bill worked at FibroGen until 2005.

In 2005, Usinger joined Novartis as the Director of Research. In this role, they led a multidisciplinary effort to identify and characterize monoclonal antibody drug candidates for new oncology targets. Bill directed late-stage target validation, defined and implemented research activities, and developed lead antibodies through early stage development into clinical trials. Their time at Novartis lasted until 2009.

After leaving Novartis, Usinger worked as a Consultant at SDIX from 2008 to 2010.

Lastly, in 2010, Usinger became the Vice President and Head of R&D at Trellis Bioscience, a position they still hold.

Bill Usinger has a Master of Science degree in Genetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Ph.D. in Immunology from the same university.
