Ralph Santos

Ralph Santos has over 19 years of work experience in the technology industry. In 2021, they began working as a DevOps Security Engineer for Trellis Software, Inc., where they manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform and Terragrunt, implements policies and procedures required for Trellis' SOC 2 Type 2 security program, reviews third-party system audits and penetration tests, coordinates and/or performs remediations as needed, and monitors system infrastructure and responds to system outages and security events. In 2015, they began working as a Systems Architect for BetaZi, LLC. In 2014, they worked as a Site Reliability Engineer for UserTesting, where they developed and maintained a Chef-based configuration management system, deployed and monitored servers on AWS and Rackspace, and cooperated with Engineering management and Software Engineers for new services. In 2013, they worked as a DevOps Engineer for Efactor.com and EFactor, where they planned and executed migrations of production networks onto hosting environments, proposed and executed a cleanup and validation plan for a customer database, and configured and deployed Windows servers for web application developers. In 2011, they worked as a System Engineer for Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory's Earth Sciences Division, where they provided support and assistance to scientific staff developing software, designed scripts to build project application stacks from source, and deployed development and production servers to VM hosts and cloud hosting providers. In 2011, they also worked as a Javascript Developer for Affymetrix, where they worked on the rebuild of WT Loading Pipeline. In 2006, they worked as a Bioinformatics Developer for Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory's Physical Biosciences Division, where they planned and deployed applications for multiple laboratory environments, configured management and monitoring of project servers and databases, and coordinated with project PI's in application planning and deployment, data entry, and QC issues. In 2006, they also worked as a Software Engineer for UC Berkeley. In 2002, they worked as a DevOps Engineer for Rosetta Inpharmatics, where they developed an application to allow scientific staff to cooperatively edit reports, developed a database and tools for tracking NCBI contigs and transcripts, and developed a web interface for a database system supporting a RT-PCR laboratory.

Ralph Santos attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1987 to 1992, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Humanities.
