Erik Abron

Erik Abron serves as the Director of Student Services and Dean of Culture and Discipline at Trellus, where collaboration with the school leadership team fosters a positive, safe, and inclusive environment conducive to students' social, emotional, and academic success. Previous roles include Dean of Students and English Language Arts Teacher at Chicago Public Schools, as well as experience as an Instructional Designer/Trainer at The William Everett Group. Erik has also taught various grade levels within the Evanston/Skokie School District 65 and worked as a Youth Guidance Counselor, focusing on supporting at-risk students. Erik holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from North Park University and a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Headquartered in West Ridge—one of Chicago’s major refugee settlement neighborhoods—we serve individuals and families representing more than 50 nations and ethnicities. Our culturally responsive, comprehensive services include trauma-informed behavioral health counseling, case management, health education, ESL and technology classes, career training and job placement, and other supportive services. We also operate Passages Charter School, a pre-K to 8 charter school in the Andersonville neighborhood keenly focused on the needs and experience of refugee families.
