Neil J. Weissman, MD, serves as the Chief Scientific Officer and President of the MedStar Health Research Institute, and directs the Cardiovascular Core Laboratories at MedStar Health since April 1999. In addition, Neil holds the position of Professor of Medicine at Georgetown University since 2006. Neil is an active member of the American Society of Echocardiography, where contributions include serving as the Founding Chair and Inaugural Director of the Leadership Academy, as well as holding various leadership roles. Neil's board membership extends to the Innovation and Value Initiative (IVI) and participation in the DIA’s Regional Advisory Council. With a longstanding membership in the American College of Cardiology, Neil has also served as Chair of the Imaging Council and as Governor for the District of Columbia. Prior experience includes significant roles at Georgetown University Medical Center, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Weill Cornell Medicine. Neil's education includes a Doctor of Medicine from Joan & Sanford I. Weill Medical College of Cornell University and a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Cornell University.
