Eric Chen

Eric Chen has a diverse range of work experience in software engineering and web development/design. Eric is currently a Software Engineering Team Lead at Tribute Technology. Prior to this, they worked as a Software Engineer at Synctera, where they built and shipped features for the Synctera console using various technologies such as React, TypeScript, and Google Cloud.

Eric has also worked at Empire Life, where they held multiple roles including Full Stack Platform Lead, Full Stack Developer Lead, and Full Stack Developer. In these positions, they oversaw technical decisions, acted as a liaison between the technical team and business partners, initiated the creation of an internal React component library, and contributed extensively to Empire Life's web products using technologies like Django, Drupal, and React.

Before Empire Life, Eric worked at Seneca College as an Instructor and Senior Technologist. Additionally, they have freelance experience as a Full Stack Web Developer. Eric's skill set includes expertise in various programming languages, frameworks, and tools such as React, Redux, Docker, and Google Cloud Platform.

Eric Chen attended the University of Toronto - University College from 2006 to 2011, where they earned a H.BSc degree. During their time there, they studied SPE Psychology and MA Biochemistry. In 2014, Eric also enrolled in the Webmaster Program at Seneca College, where they focused on web development, design, and programming.
