Prior to this role, Ed Merwin worked at Honeywell Automation and Control from 1975 to 2000, where responsibilities included field technical supervision, district management, account executive roles, and various positions in sales and marketing. Ed Merwin earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Old Dominion University between 1979 and 1981, having also attended Virginia Tech from 1972 to 1975.
