VP of Innovation & Strategy at Trigger XR

Jeremy Smallwood has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of creative strategy and design. Jeremy is currently the VP of Innovation & Strategy at Trigger XR since May 2023. In the same year, they also became a founding member of Verses and Valleys, where they provide tech advisory services to non-profit organizations.

Prior to their current roles, Jeremy worked at Meta from 2017 to 2023, holding various positions such as Experience Design Lead, Creative Strategist in CPG & Sports Retail, Creative Strategist at Creative Shop, and Creative Strategist in the Restaurants division. Before joining Meta, from 2011 to 2016, Jeremy was part of the Young & Rubicam Group, serving as SVP, Executive Creative Director and Creative Director. Jeremy played a crucial role in winning new business for the company and leading successful campaigns for clients such as BMO Harris Bank, Embassy Suites, DoubleTree by Hilton, and Famous Footwear.

Jeremy's earlier experience includes working as an Associate Creative Director at mcgarrybowen from 2008 to 2011 and as a Designer/Associate Creative Director at Leo Burnett from 2002 to 2008. During their time at Leo Burnett, they were involved in creating impactful work for renowned brands like Altoids, Maytag, Nintendo, and McDonald's, earning recognition at prestigious awards shows such as Cannes, One Show, and Communication Arts. Notably, they received the Grand Kelly Award in 2006 for their work on Altoids.

Jeremy started their career as an Intern Designer at Pentagram in 2001, where they gained valuable experience in design.

Jeremy Smallwood attended Drury University from 1996 to 2000, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Visual Communications/Design. From 2000 to 2002, they attended Miami Ad School Atlanta @ Portfolio Center, focusing on Design. In March 2022, they obtained the Meta Certified Creative Strategy Professional certification from Meta.
