TriGuard Management is an independent private equity investment management firm focused on niche investment strategies. TriGuard's investment philosophy is to pursue niches that generate top-quartile returns and strong cash flows during varying economic conditions.

The Firm manages the highly proprietary Montauk TriGuard secondary funds. TriGuard utilizes a multi-niche investment strategy with an emphasis on tertiary liquidity (secondary in a secondary fund) and consortia carve-outs (with leading secondary funds). The Firm manages five top-quartile funds.

TriGuard Management is headquartered in Irvine, California.  The management team consists of six professionals with over 100 years of combined private equity experience. The Principals have significant direct experience in private debt, mezzanine and equity deals in specialty industries. Their broad secondary, niche and deal underwriting experience and deep industry relationships provide a unique advantage in sourcing, evaluating, valuing and completing niche secondary transactions.

Montauk TriGuard Funds’ objective is to purchase limited partnership interests in private equity funds on a secondary basis. The General Partner currently manages approximately $1 billion dedicated to private equity secondaries.  The Firm manages five funds, all focused on the same proven strategy and managed by the same team of investment professionals.  With a differentiated strategy and portfolio composition, TriGuard offers a core position for most private equity portfolios.

As an independent entity focused exclusively on partnership secondaries, Montauk TriGuard operates with complete discretion for the confidentiality of the seller and the underlying partnerships. In addition, the Principals have developed strong relationships with many limited partners, primary, secondary and fund-of-fund managers, many of whom come directly to Montauk for resolution of liquidity issues.
