Richard Day has extensive experience in engineering and applied physics, currently serving as Engineering Manager and Distinguished Engineer at Trimble Inc. since August 2015, where leadership of a multidisciplinary team focuses on developing advanced 3D laser scanning products. Prior roles include Applied Physicist at the European Gravitational Observatory, contributing to the commissioning of Virgo+ and Advanced Virgo experiments, as well as Research Engineer at Trimble, where Richard played a key role in developing a new generation of 3D laser scanners. Richard's academic credentials include a PhD in Laser Physics from Université Joseph Fourier and an MSci in Physics from Imperial College London.
