Roland Winkler

Roland Winkler is a seasoned engineering professional with over two decades of experience in the software development and geospatial industries. Currently serving as Senior Director of Engineering at Trimble Inc. since July 2011, Roland oversees engineering teams and product development for the Office and Cloud portfolio in Surveying and Mapping, having previously managed additional responsibilities in Utilities and Local Governments. Prior to this role, Roland held various engineering management positions at Trimble, including Director of Office Software and Cloud, and Manager of the Geospatial Software Division. Roland's background also includes significant experience at Definiens AG, where managerial duties encompassed software engineering for diverse sectors, and at ESG GmbH, focusing on project management and software development. Roland holds a Dipl. Ing. degree from the Technical University of Munich.
