Iain Lower

Iain Lower CB has extensive experience in the Royal Navy, holding various key positions including Commanding Officer HMS DRAGON and Head of Military Plans for Africa and the Americas. Earlier in the career, Iain specialized in Gunnery and Air Warfare, serving on multiple vessels such as HMS LEEDS CASTLE, HMS SHOREHAM, and HMS GLOUCESTER, and was awarded an Operational Service Medal for contributions in Afghanistan. Iain ascended to senior leadership roles, including Director Strategy and Policy as Rear Admiral, and served as a personal liaison officer between the UK and US Armed Forces as Commodore. Currently, Iain is the Deputy Master and Chief Executive Officer of Trinity House, following a role as Director Strategy & Commonwealth Affairs at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. Academic qualifications include an MA in Defence Studies & International Relations from King's College London and BSc(Hons) degrees in Geography from the University of Reading and the University of Groningen.
