Hans Stegeman

Hans Stegeman has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the banking and financial sector. Hans is currently the Chief Economist and Group Director of Impact & Economics at Triodos Bank, where they lead economic research, analysis, and thought leadership. Additionally, they take the lead on Triodos Bank's impact strategy.

Prior to their current position, Hans worked as a columnist for Het Financieele Dagblad in 2021. From 2020 to 2022, they served as the Chief Investment Strategist at Triodos Investment Management, where they headed the investment strategy department and conducted macro and thematic (sustainability) research.

Before joining Triodos Investment Management, Hans held the role of Head of Investment analysis and economics at Triodos Bank from 2017 to 2020, where they set up and led a team of researchers and investment analysts. Hans was responsible for asset allocation, conducting research on relevant investment topics, and representing Triodos IM for clients and media.

Hans also has a strong background in economic research and analysis. From 2007 to 2017, they worked at Rabobank in various roles, including Chief Economist Netherlands, Head of Special Projects in the Economic Research Department, and Head of International Research. Hans conducted macro, sector, and regional economic research, as well as research on sustainability, long-term trends, and scenarios.

Before their tenure at Rabobank, Hans worked as a senior economist at Centraal Planbureau from 1998 to 2007 and as a policy advisor at ABVAKABO FNV from 1997 to 1998.
