David Kern

David Kern has extensive work experience in procurement and strategic initiatives. David started their career in 1999 as a Team Lead at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where they focused on financial reporting and auditing. David then moved to Staples in 2003, where they held various roles, including Director of North America Procurement and Integrated Auditor & Forensic Accountant. At Staples, they managed strategic partnerships and initiatives and led international project teams for audits and risk assessments. In 2016, they joined Tripadvisor as the Director of Procurement, responsible for establishing procurement activities for the company. David later took on the role of Senior Director, Procurement and Global Strategic Initiatives, where they drove operational and financial growth initiatives. Currently, they serve as the Vice President of Global Procurement for TripAdvisor Group.

David Kern completed their education in a chronologically-ordered manner. David attended Barnstable High School from 1991 to 1995, but did not obtain a degree or specify a field of study during this time. From 1996 to 1999, they pursued a Bachelor's of Business Administration degree with a major in Accounting at the Isenberg School of Management, University of Massachusetts Amherst.

In addition to their formal education, David obtained several certifications. David became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in January 2003 through the Massachusetts Society of CPAs, Inc. Following this, they achieved the designation of Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) in January 2004 through the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). In November 2007, they completed the training to become a Reserve/Intermittent Police Officer, accredited by the Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee. Lastly, in January 2008, they attained the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certification through The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc. David also obtained a certification from the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services, the Massachusetts Fire Academy, in January 1995, although the specifics of this certification were not provided.
