Triquetra Counseling, PLLC is a woman-owned private practice that provides trauma-focused, culturally-responsive mental health services to the diverse population of Charlotte, NC. As one of the most racially and socio-economically segregated cities in the US, Charlotte lacks accessible, high-quality, personalized mental health care for its marginalized communities. With an emphasis on personalizing evidence-based practices and offering accessible care via contracts with a range of insurance companies, Triquetra Counseling aims to fill that need and demonstrate that the gap in the quality of services and settings available to Charlotte’s citizens is unnecessary.  With many therapists in private practice reporting experiencing exploitation as 1099- contractors, Triquetra Counseling also aims to demonstrate that a private practice can be client-centered and clinician-centered, emphasizing fair, consistent compensation of contractors.

We have over 20 years combined experience as clinicians in the mental health field. Owners Jess and Sabina have experience working in a variety of settings, including non-profits, in-home services, residential services, the criminal justice system, schools, and private practice, and are all trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a gold standard trauma treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Jess is also trained in Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and Sabina has extensive graduate-level training in providing culturally-responsive mental health care in Spanish.
