David Hynd

David Hynd is the Chief Scientist at TRL, with over 20 years of international experience in vehicle safety. They specialize in biomechanics, injury prevention, and the development of test procedures for secondary safety performance. David has led initiatives on legislative testing and is currently focused on the safety of automated vehicles, serving as the technical lead for the StreetWise project and overseeing the certification of automated vehicles. They previously held positions at Richmond, Twickenham and Roehampton Healthcare NHS Trust and the University of Surrey, where they earned both a Bachelor's Degree and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering.
