Matthew Brough

Matthew Brough is an accomplished professional in asset management with extensive experience in the transportation and civil infrastructure sector. Currently serving as the Director of Asset Management at TRL since October 2025, Brough previously held the position of Head of Infrastructure Asset Management at Arcadis from June 2021 to October 2025. Brough's earlier roles include Director of the Rail Asset Management Group and Director of Transportation Asset Management at AECOM, where responsibilities encompassed operational, tactical, and strategic asset management services, as well as business management and risk management. Prior to AECOM, Brough was the Director of Pavements, Trackbed and Materials Consultancy at URS Corporation, managing a large team and overseeing service delivery in various disciplines. Brough's foundation in engineering was established at the University of Birmingham, earning a PhD, MSc Eng, and MEng in Civil Engineering with Management, along with a specialization in biochemical engineering.
