Heba Aly

Heba Aly is a seasoned journalist and humanitarian leader, recognized for building ambitious initiatives aimed at creating a fairer world. They have worked as a freelance journalist covering critical issues in Sudan, served as an associate producer at CBC Radio's *The Current*, and held key roles at *The New Humanitarian*, including Chief Executive Officer, where they successfully reoriented the organization and secured substantial funding. Currently, they contribute as a senior advisor at the Coalition for the UN We Need and are a co-host of the *Rethinking Humanitarianism* podcast, influencing critical discussions on crisis response. Heba holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Human Rights from Carleton University, graduated with highest honors, and has been actively involved in various advisory boards and initiatives focused on humanitarian policy and reform.
