Cort Maclean has held a variety of roles in the film and media industry, beginning in 1998 as the Managing Member of Digitelio Film Development. In 2007, they became an Affiliate at Axis Media Detroit, and in 2009, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Detroit Mercy. In 2010, they were a Law Intern at the United States Federal Courts, and in 2011, they were a Partner at Novi Video Production and a Managing Member at Galaxy Film Studios LLC. In 2013, they worked as a Home Purchase Specialist at Quicken Loans, and in 2015, they were Co-Founder of Eden Road Pictures and an Office Production Assistant at Studio71, LP. From 2016 to present, they have worked at Studio71, LP as a Supervising Producer, Original Content, a Stage Manager, a Line Producer, a Studio Liaison, and a Production Coordinator.

Cort Maclean has an education history that spans from 1991 to 2011. Cort attended Ernest W. Seaholm High School from 1993 to 1997, followed by Western Michigan University where they obtained their BA in Anthropology/International Business in 2001. Cort then attended Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2001, but did not obtain a degree. In 2007, they obtained their JD from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, specializing in Entertainment Law. Additionally, they hold a Mortgage Loan Originator certification from NMLS.
