Mpho Mothoa

Mpho L Mothoa is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in operations and leadership roles across the mining and mineral sectors. Currently serving as the Vice President of Operations for Asia Pacific and South Africa at Tronox since July 2017, Mpho also holds the positions of Chairman and Managing Director for Tronox SA and Managing Director in Saudi Arabia. Mpho's leadership extends to TRONOX MINERAL SANDS (PTY) LTD and TRONOX KZN SANDS (PTY) LTD, where the role of Chairman and Managing Director has been assumed since June 2019. Prior to joining Tronox, Mpho spent nearly 18 years at Rio Tinto, advancing through various managerial positions, including Managing Director and Chief Operations Officer. Mpho holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from MANCOSA, a degree in Chemical Engineering from Tshwane University of Technology, and completed the Emerging Leaders Programme at London Business School in 2004.
