Hans Smit

Hans Smit is an experienced theater critic and presenter currently serving as a theater reviewer for Trouw since November 2022 and as a presenter and program maker for NPO Klassiek since 2012. Smit has contributed as a critic and podcaster for Theaterkrant since March 2012 and operates as the owner of Hansznwerk, specializing in presentation and moderating since January 2008. Adviseur Jeugdpodiumkunsten for the Raad voor Cultuur from January 2021 to December 2023, Smit has also worked as a freelancer for Het Parool and as an advisor for theater at Fonds Podiumkunsten from March 2017 to March 2020. Previous roles include hosting various programs for AVROTROS and AVRO's Opium Radio from 2008 to 2016. Smit holds degrees from the University of Amsterdam and Leiden University, reflecting a strong academic background in the arts.
